Abstract

This survey evaluates the effect of educational motivation on students’ learning from smart school websites, and studies their educational achievement. The research methodology is semi-experimental and comparative. By the use of multistage random sampling, 120 learners were selected out of the statistical population i.e. the first grade students in the smart high schools of Tehran which have their own websites. Survey tools include Walrand et al (1992) educational motivation questionnaire, researcher-made questionnaire of website usage, and educational achievement test. Reliability of questionnaires was achieved by Cronbach’s alpha coefficient respectively as 0.88 and 0.84. The survey findings showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between internal and external motivation of learners and their use of smart school websites. As a result, the internal motivation for doing work had the highest effect and the external motivation for adjustment of homogenization had the lowest effect on learners’ use of smart school websites; and education through smart school websites leads to educational achievement.
