Abstract
The present study was conducted with the aim of determining the effect of reading pictures and understanding the concept of pictures on the academic performance of bilingual students in the fifth grade Farsi course. The research method was semi-experimental with a pre-test-post-test design. The statistical population of this research was the total number of 242 female students in the fifth grade of Varzaneh schools in the academic year of 1402-1403, and 30 people were selected as a statistical sample using the available sampling method. They were randomly divided into two control and experimental groups. To collect data and information from the questionnaire, a researcher-made academic performance test taken from page 127 of the fifth Persian book was used. SPSS and covariance analysis software were used to analyze data and information. The results of the research showed that reading pictures and understanding the concept of pictures (intimacy chair) has a significant effect on the academic performance of bilingual students in the fifth grade.
