The Relationship between Mental Toughness and Job Crafting among Physical Education Teachers of Ahvaz

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between mental toughness and its components with job crafting of physical education teachers in Ahvaz. According to Morgan table, 201 physical education teachers were required to participate in the study, eventually, 202 physical education teacher were selected as a statistical sample. 220 questionnaires were distributed and 202 questionnaires were collected. Data collection tools ware mental toughness (MTQ-48) and Job Crafting Questionnaire (JCQ). Validity and reliability of the questionnaires have been confirmed in previous studies. The analysis of the collected data in this study was done by SPSS software and in significant level of P≤0.05. One sample T-Test, Pearson correlation and regression ware used to data analysis. The results of the research showed that the status of the components of mental toughness and Job crafting are higher than average. Also, the research showed that there is a significant relationship between mental toughness and its components with job crafting among physical education teachers Therefore, it can be said that high levels of mental toughness, especially interpersonal trust and the establishment of positive interpersonal relationships can affect the use of job crafting or manipulation and personalization of teachers' educational environment. Given the current situation of most schools and the lack of necessary facilities for conducting physical education courses, it can help the administrators, physical education experts of the relevant departments and officials to design better programs.
