The Relation Between University's Experiences and Academic’s Achievements of the Students of Fars Farhangian University

Abstract

The goal of this study is to survey the relation between university's experiences and academic’s achievements of the students of Fars Farhangian university. It is a  cohesive descriptive study which was done through cross sectional method. The statistical population includes all 1400 students in the second semester of the academic year of 2015-16 at the Farhangian University of Fars province. According to Morgan table, 302 students were selected through stratified random sampling method based on gender and field of study as the sample. The instrument used in this study was College Students' experience Questionare (CSEQ) and for data analysis, descriptive statistics, multiple regression, correlation coefficient and independent t-test were used . The results of this study showed that all three dimensions of student experiences including perception of the quality of student's effort, social unity and environmental quality respectively predict their university achievements while according to gender, marital status and residence, the difference between their academic achievements is not significant ; However, according to the field of study, the place of study and academic performance, the power of the dimensions of student experiences varies in predicting their achievements. According to the results, creating favorable conditions and educational facilities for the growth and prosperity of the talents and abilities of the students of Farhangian University is necessary.
