Evaluation of the Professional Ethics Status of the Teachers in Sanandaj Islamic Azad University in 2017

Abstract

The professional teaching ethics of the  instructors in universities will cause improvements in  education in every country. So, the present study tries to evaluate  the  status of the  professors’ professional ethics. The present study was a descriptive cross-sectional study. The population of the study includes  all students in Sanadaj Islamic Azad University. Randomly ,  200 individuals were selected as the statistical sample. Data were collected by the standard questionnaire of professional teaching ethics by Sobhaninejad and his colleagues in the form of 48 items and 6 components. Data were analyzed using SPSS 21 software. The findings showed  the order of the  scores got in each trait from the highest to the lowest one as follows:  the highest score of professional ethics of teachers in  personality traits  dimension was (3.78) at the desired level and the next score was in the mastery of teaching methods  (3.04)which followed by observance of educational rules with score ( 2.97), the aristocratic dimension on the score (2.5) at the relatively desirable level, the recognition of the different aspects of the learner with the score (2.6), the standard rating with the score (1.93) were at an unfavorable level. The average score of the six factors of teachers' professional ethics  evauation showed that the group received a score of 2.33 points out of a total score of 5, and was ranked in a relatively favorable situation based on the ranking criterion.
